Matan Kovacs is a senior litigation associate working at the firm’s Tel-Aviv office. An intellectual property litigation specialist with distinguished proficiency in media and entertainment law, Matan is regularly involved in complex, high-stakes commercial litigation cases and appears before Israeli courts of all instances, local and international arbitration tribunals, and the Israeli Patent and Trademark Office.
Matan’s recent cases include:
o Acting on an ICC arbitration in excess of USD 360 million between joint venture partners in the travel retail industry.
o Representing a Florida-based eyewear brand in trademark infringement action against one of the country’s leading retailers.
o Representing investors in a multi-million dollar action relating to a real estate investment in London.
o Representing in a defamation case against one of the country’s leading entertainment websites.
o Representing one of the largest construction and civil engineering companies in Israel in an ICC arbitration in a dispute arising out of delays in the construction of a power plant in Israel.
o Representing a digital marketing and advertising services firm in a trade secrets misappropriation and defamation case valued at millions of dollars.
In addition to his practice at Naschitz Brandes Amir, Matan is a long-time teaching assistant at his alma mater, Tel Aviv University, where he assists leading academics and practitioners teach various intellectual property law classes.
