Former Director of the Israel Patent Office, Asa Kling Joins Naschitz Brandes Amir & Co.
Mr. Asa Kling, Adv. & Patent Attorney, former Director of the Israel Patent Office (ILPO), Commissioner pf Patents, Designs and Trademarks (2011 - 2017) has joined the law offices of Naschitz Brandes Amir & Co. and will chair its intellectual property group.

As Director of the ILPO, Mr. Kling led several policy and regulative reforms in Israel's intellectual property laws and in the operations and structure of the office. Mr. Kling represented Israel in various international forums and contributed to Israel's leadership in technological innovation. Prior to joining the civil service Mr. Kling was partner in one of the leading IP groups in Israel providing legal and patenting services for local and international clients. Mr. Kling is a popular speaker on IP matters in professional and academic forums.

As Director of the ILPO Mr. Kling lead the implementation of hi-end information technologies and automation in the examination process and the improvement of online services. Thereby he laid the foundations for the growing use of artificial intelligence capabilities in the operations of IP offices worldwide. Mr. Kling has a unique perspective on Israeli design law due to his considerable part in promoting the legislation of the new Design Law which came into force in August 2018.

Prior to entering law Mr. Kling was an Aerospace engineer and gained experience in research and development.

Mr. Kling's professionalism and reputation in IP will substantively enhance the firm's current IP practice and its ability to provide clients with a full suit of services.
