Class Actions
Class actions have become increasingly prominent in Israel since the promulgation of the 2006 Class Actions Law and the Customers Defense Law. In that time, Naschitz Brandes Amir has been at the forefront in the defense of companies sued in class action proceedings.

The firm has represented some of the largest companies in Israel against substantial and complex actions. Of note are class actions in the food and food additives industries, including sizeable claims in the areas of false labeling, weight and volume shortage and misleading description. For example, we successfully represented a leading food manufacturer in a NIS 12 billion claim against it for misleading the public that a product was in compliance with Jewish dietary laws ("Kosher"). Also worth mentioning is the dismissal with prejudice of three claims concerning a large-scale recall conducted by a food company.

The department has also represented banks in class action claims brought against such banks in consumer-related issues, money-laundering questions and other matters.
