Neta Heichal-Yassur is a partner in Naschitz Brandes Amir's Tel Aviv office, whose practice focuses on complex insurance and liability matters. She advises on property insurance claims, including business interruption, Delay in Start-Up (DSU), and Advanced Loss of Profits (ALOP), as well as liability matters involving pollution, professional negligence, and product, third-party, and employers' liability. Her work also encompasses aviation law, civil litigation, including class actions, tort claims involving personal injury and property damage, and environmental matters.

 

Ms. Heichal-Yassur has handled claims arising from some of Israel's largest fires and major environmental pollution incidents, as well as domestic and international aviation accidents, skydiving accidents, and significant product liability matters, including mass personal injury cases involving exposure to chemical substances. She has also defended insurers in claims involving suspected insurance fraud, including deliberate fires and staged burglaries.

 

Ms. Heichal-Yassur advises and represents domestic and international insurers and reinsurers in complex disputes, both as defense counsel and in subrogation proceedings.

  • An insurance claim under a Pollution Liability policy arising from the June 30, 2017 incident at Rotem Amfert’s processing facility, which resulted in the release of processing water into the Ashalim Nature Reserve.
  • An insurance claim under a Contractors’ All Risks policy arising from the December 3, 2014 oil spill from EAPC’s pipeline, which resulted in contamination of the Evrona Nature Reserve.
  • A Delay in Start-Up (DSU) insurance claim arising from groundwater intrusion at a construction project.
  • A business interruption claim under an Extended Fire and Loss of Profits policy arising from flooding at a subcontractor’s manufacturing facility in Thailand in October 2011.
  • Liability and subrogation claims arising from extensive damage caused by the fire at an IKEA store in February 2011.
  • Liability and subrogation claims arising from extensive damage caused by the Carmel Forest fire in December 2010.
  • Multiple professional liability claims involving alleged financial losses in connection with a large-scale real estate project.
  • Numerous subrogation and insurance claims arising from major fires at commercial centers.
  • Representation of the Israeli Fire and Rescue Services in professional liability claims arising from major fires, including the Jerusalem Hills fires of 1995 and 1996, the Carmel Forest fire of December 2010, and the July 2009 fire at the manufacturing facility of Denber Paints and Coatings 2002 Ltd. in Ofakim.
  • Representation of families of victims of aviation accidents, including the crash of a One-Two-Go aircraft in Thailand and a helicopter crash in Israel. Both matters involved parallel proceedings in Israel and abroad, including product liability claims.
