Naschitz Brandes Amir Lawyers Secure Win for Alfa Duty-Free in a Major Tender Violation Claim

Naschitz Brandes Amir represents Alfa Duty-Free in a complex international arbitration, seeking recourse for breach of contract (among other things) in the form of collusion between its then-partner Heinemann and incumbent James Richardson. In an award spanning more than 400 pages, an ICC tribunal found that in 2013 James Richardson and Heinemann fixed the flagship tender of the Israel Airports Authority for the central duty-free concession at Ben Gurion Airport to the detriment of Alfa and, as a result, ordered Heinemann to pay Alfa a total of NIS 110 million. Earlier this week, the District Court of Tel Aviv approved the award in full, flatly rejecting Heinemann’s attempts to set it aside and ordering Heinemann to pay Alfa an additional NIS 150,000 in costs.
