This week marks International Data Protection Day, observed annually on January 28th, in commemoration of the adoption of the Council of Europe Convention 108—the first international legal instrument to formally recognize the right of individuals to the protection of their personal data.
Since its adoption, privacy laws and data protection regulations in Israel and globally have experienced rapid evolution. This is particularly relevant as we approach August 2025, when Amendment No. 13 to Israel’s Privacy Protection Law is scheduled to come into effect.
In recognition of this significant milestone, we are pleased to present a comprehensive guide prepared by the firm’s Data Protection & Privacy practice team. This guide has been specifically tailored for our clients and the expanding community of Data Protection Officers (DPOs) in Israel.
The guide provides an in-depth analysis of the key provisions of Amendment No. 13 and the directive from the Privacy Protection Authority regarding board responsibilities.
