Orr Amsel is a partner in Naschitz Brandes Amir’s Litigation & Dispute Resolution Practice where he focuses on complex civil and commercial litigation. Orr has extensive experience representing international and domestic corporate clients with respect to a wide range of litigation and advisory matters.
Orr has been with Naschitz Brandes Amir since his internship in 2012. From 2015 to 2017, he studied law abroad and practiced as a foreign associate in Davis Polk & Wardwell’s Litigation Department in New York.
- Successfully represented FIMI in a multi-million NIS commercial claim relating to the interpretation and implementation of an adjustment mechanism in a share purchase agreement following a reverse triangular merger.
- Successfully represented FIMI in a multi-million USD claim brought by a commercial finder alleging entitlement to a finder's fee following one of FIMI's largest transactions.
- Successfully represented Mekorot in a multi-million NIS property damage claim, alleging damages resulting from an inadequate water supply, and successfully defending the judgement before the Supreme Court in an appeal that was filed by the plaintiffs.
- Successfully represented a party to a joint tender bid (for the supply of products in an African country) in an arbitration claim against its commercial partner, and successfully defending the award in the pursing confirmation and enforcement proceedings before the District Court.
- Successfully Represented A. Arenson in a variety of construction disputes involving owners and sub-contractors, including multi-million USD claims it filed against the Israeli Port Company, the Israel Roads Company, and an Indian manufacturer of construction supplies.
- Successfully represented the City of Ashkelon in a multi-million NIS professional negligence claim that was brought against it alleging delays in providing building permits.
- Representing foreign reinsurers in a multi-million USD insurance and construction claim filed due to alleged defects in a desalination plant, including loss of profits due to delays in construction.
- Representing foreign insurers in a multi-million USD professional negligence claim involving delays in the construction of residential skyscrapers.
- Representing Afcon Holdings in a multi-million USD property damage claim, following a fire in one of the largest factories in Israel.
- Representing Shlomo Insurance Company in a multi-million NIS commercial claim, alleging misappropriation and infringement of trade secrets.
- Representing and advising foreign banks in AML/CFT disputes.
- Representing various companies, from different industries, in complicated shareholder disputes, including fending-off requests for interim measures in such disputes and obtaining them.
- Representing various companies in consumer and insurance class actions and representing companies in derivative actions.
- Representing various companies and individuals in complex IP disputes, including service invention disputes, IP Core ownership disputes, trade secret infringements, trademarks disputes, & copyright royalty collecting disputes.
