Asa Kling is head of Naschitz Brandes Amir's Intellectual Property practice, where he handles a wide range of IP-related matters, including litigation, drafting, prosecution, and transactional work. He also serves as co-head of the firm's AI practice.
Mr. Kling advises industry leaders and innovative startups in biotech, life sciences, medical devices, and technology, as well as research institutions and universities. He has extensive expertise across all areas of intellectual property law and practice, including IP litigation, copyright, IP due diligence, IP licensing, trade secrets, unfair competition, trademarks, designs, plant breeders' rights, appellations of origin, geographical indications, and patent strategy, drafting and prosecution. Mr. Kling is both an attorney-at-law and a registered patent attorney.
Mr. Kling joined Naschitz Brandes Amir after a successful tenure as the Director of the Israel Patent Office and Commissioner of Patents, Trademarks, and Designs (2011-2017). Prior to that, he was a partner in one of Israel's leading intellectual property law firms, where he litigated complex commercial disputes, primarily involving intellectual property and unfair competition issues.
Mr. Kling has gained considerable experience as an effective arbitrator and mediator in several intellectual property-related cases, and he is a recognized WIPO Neutral. He serves as president of the AIPPI Israel Regional Group, speaks at international forums, and teaches intellectual property law at Reichman University and The Hebrew University of Jerusalem. Mr. Kling has been recognized as a '2023 Trade mark star' by Managing IP, a leading ranking directory for intellectual property professionals.
